Think Green - Earth Hour '08
Hey everyone, I just thought I would share this important video to help spread the awareness of global warming. Buying energy efficient light bulbs is just one of the many ways to help decrease our ecological footprints. Our family has already invested in these energy efficient light bulbs, and we couldn't be happier. They may cost more then a conventional light bulb, but can use 75% less electricity, last years longer, and can save you three times its cost in electricity. In case you haven’t heard, the Earth Hour campaign is occurring worldwide on March 29th. Its purpose is to draw attention to the effects of climate change, and requires most of the lights to be shut off between 8 and 9 p.m. This event originally occurred last year in Sydney, and has grown into a global movement. So far, 17 cities around the world have committed to joining Sydney, including Manila, Copenhagen and Tel Aviv. Toronto is the first Canadian city to join the movement, with four more cities on the way. When March 29th arrives, I personally plan on participating in this global event. Hopefully this campaign will influence the global population to take action against the depletion of the environment.
